Sunday 8th April 2012

A lovely day again with blue skies after a cloudy start.  Temperatures were not as hot as the previous few days but still nicely pleasant and time was spent sitting in the sunshine with only the short walk to the local store for milk.

Rosemary and Hugh completed the traditional stone marking their stay with us amongst much hilarity as Hugh played with his suggestions of what it might look like.  The stone laying ceremony went down well accompanied with a glass of wine.  The competition will now be on to improve.  As you can see Julia started the trend with a great design and this has now been followed.

Hugh laid his stone near the canna lilies where he had been fascinated during the week watching the preying mantis that were sun bathing there.  Great excitement when true to the 'books' the female devoured the male after we assumed mating!  The picture shows it munching on the head and after 40 minutes it had gone.  Truly amazing.

Delightful early evening beach walk to Kite beach.  Whilst there is still a great need for white stones we focused on red and green along with speciality coloured stones.  Not a great success in terms of numbers. We will need to go back again and again.  The walk is lovely.  It so so good to be here.
